Introduction

It wasn´t a perfect meeting place as many would envision. On the contrary, it was hilarious. My colleagues and I entered a club around town, it was a farewell party of some sort. Being a typical Friday, jeans, sweat shirt and a backpack was all I walked into that club in. I´m an extrovert, but I also loved dancing back then. This was bout two years ago. When they say women hardly forget things, it is true. Down to the very last detail is always engraved in our minds.

We had ordered our drinks, all five of us, joined two tables so we could all sit together as a group. Right next to us, right behind where I was seated, was a nice gentleman, good looking. He was in the company of another guy. First thought was they were friends unwinding from the long week. I didn´t recognize him as much because the thought of meeting someone that night was far from my mind.

Weirdly there was a dance competition. Merry me and the love of having a good time, I went up to the slightly raised platform alongside four other people. Two guys and another lady. The music was turned up, moving my body to the rhythm enjoying the moment with quite the audience that I hardly noticed were there. About two songs in, I emerged the winner that night based on votes from the audience. I was excited! So the prize was a shot of the best tequila and I ended up getting more drinks from the audience for my performance. I personally wouldn´t call it a performance. I was simply enjoying myself.

I talked to a lot people that night, some of whom we still bump into each other in entertainment joints around town. I went back to my seat and the nice gentleman reached out and said “Hi”. Actually his first comment was “You are very good dancer.” I giggled and we started talking. Needless to say that I moved to his table. What struck me at that moment was his gentleness and the way he spoke to me.

Time flew by while we talked and it was time for me to go home. Before I left, he asked me for my number. I did not think much of it at that time so I wrote it down on his phone, said my goodbye and walked left.
